The location of our final project is expected to be the largest rooftop array within our school district so far!

With a large and new roof, Southern Bluffs Elementary is the perfect school to go green next. This 149 kW solar project is expected to be the largest solar PV system within our school district so far!

The cost of the project to SOLS will be around $150,000.

Our school district’s Energy & Transportation Manager is ready to sign a contract with Ethos Green Power Cooperative for the Southern Bluffs solar project, and the district plans to contribute $50,000 towards this project’s expense. This is officially the first solar investment by the district, and is a huge step forward as a result of SOLS’ advocacy since 2020.  The system size will be 149 kW (DC), making it the largest solar PV system in our school district so far!

Project contributions so far have gotten us within $30,000 of making this solar project a reality!  Your donation, tax-deductible and managed by the La Crosse Public Education Foundation, will go straight toward solar panels and their installation. When the project is complete, you will be able to track the impact you've helped make possible for years to come, like the other seven SOLS projects shown here.
